CONA is glad to announce its first Indian resident artist for the Passing Through residency program. Ramesh Pithiya, who works and lives in Baroda, Gujarat would be commencing the residency from the 1st of August 2013.

Ramesh, who began with a B.A. English Literature followed by a Bridge course in the Art History and a Visual Arts course in Painting department in M.S.University has been active in a few group-shows in the past seven years. The past on-going project- the artist studio as self-myth cube has been a part of the Sarai Reader- Project B.

With a Baldessaristic language of instructions Ramesh questions his audience to think out of the box, literally. His box here refers to the box space of mind-studio and that of the white cube. Here the transition between the physical/mythical/mental spaces becomes primary concern for him rather than the results these spaces may produce. At CONA, it would be interesting to look at his experimental hypothesis and its application to the studio/gallery space. The collaboration with Chatterjee & Lal will push him further to create/not-create process outcomes, questioning the approach itself.

CONA is deeply thankful to Inlaks India Foundation for its collaboration and generous support towards the residency.
Also Chatterjee and Lal for believing in CONA and collaborating with it in this experiment.
