Curatorial Projects
CONA has been curating its own residencies, including Passing Through and other international residencies, which reflect CONA’s core concerns about contributing towards pedagogy and to a larger language of art making. Our curatorial projects at times become an extension of the concerns expressed in our residency programs. While our movements have been limited to the visual arts- it being our immediate community- the vision is to slowly extend these to the other disciplines through newer initiatives.
Our previous curatorial projects have addressed the idea of 'what becomes an exhibition? And what becomes of an exhibition?’ These projects predominantly looked at the practices of translation, market systems, exhibition design, archive and the politics of collection. The projects will further lend themselves to publications, which are currently underway. To further such explorations, we are also currently engaged in a curatorial collaboration with the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester in 2017.
